Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. We have had a great year full of many blessings. Craig has worked the entire year for a company called "Out on a Limb Tree Service" where he climbs trees and thins them or takes them down. It has been a nice change of pace from previous jobs. I am blessed with the privilege of being a stay at home mom. So Isaac and I have spent this past year growing and learning all kinds of new things together. And believe me, the learning has been for both of us! It is amazing what we can learn from small children. Isaac has been such a joy in our life. Every day he makes us smile and laugh with something he does. He is very curious and loves to explore new things. He has taken after his dad and is quite the climber. There is nothing in the house that he can't get on if he wants to (Including the kitchen counter!). So he requires a watchful eye and that keeps me busy but I wouldn't change it for the world. Since he is such a climber we had to take him out of his crib. Actually, he kept getting out of the crib so we had to give him a mattress on the floor. Craig is in the process of making him a log bed from a tree that fell down in our back yard. I am really excited about that. We will post a picture of it when it is done! We have also been blessed with a great church family. From there we have gotten involved in a small group bible study that meets once a week. Also from those friends we are involved in a play group and go swimming every other week. So we are keeping busy and having fun!
We pray that your Christmas would not get lost in the hype of commercialism, but that you would spend time with family and friends sharing, loving and giving of yourselves. God gave us his son as the perfect example of sharing, loving, and giving!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace." Romans 15:13

Craig's 5k Race

Today Craig ran a 5k race with our brother-in-law Justin. The second picture also has Isaac's cousin Faith!

Christmas Fun!

Isaac had fun decorating the tree. The hard part was getting him to understand that we don't take decorations off the tree. We only put them on.
Later we went to a festival of lights and they had pony rides. Isaac loved it so much he rode the ponies three times!

First Snow of the Year!

Here are a couple pictures of our first snow. We got about 3 inches. Isaac was thrilled to put his hat and mittens on and go play (or eat) in the snow. We even built our first snowman. Unfortunately the next day it started raining and rained so hard for a couple days that our snowman was nearly gone 24 hrs later.

New Zip Line!

Craig and our good friend Jake concocted a make shift zip line in our back yard this weekend. All of the boys had fun playing on it, even Isaac!

Isaac as a LION!

Here is Isaac dressed up as a lion and his cousin Elias as a Zebra.

Trip to Redding, CA

We took a trip to Redding, CA to visit Craig's brother Brian and his family. On the drive down we stopped at a rest stop and got to play in some beautiful fall leaves.

Isaac and his cousin Elias became great friends over the course of the week. They are only a few months apart in age and look like they could be brothers. We had a great time watching them interact since this was the first time they had been together where they were really old enough to play together.

New Toy Box!!!

Craig built Isaac a new toy box. We were a little bit worried that he wouldn't be able to get his toys out because of how tall the box is. Within minutes of Craig bringing it in the house Isaac realized he couldn't reach his toys, so he did what he is becoming quite good at, and he climbed right in. Once in the box he came up with a smile informing us how proud he was of his new accompishment.

Future Fireman?!?!?

Being Goofy!

Craig and Isaac are always finding new ways to have fun and be goofy. Here they are hamming it up for the camera while posing from inside Isaac's crib.

Craig and Isaac

Craig gave Isaac a haircut and this time he used the clippers. Isaac did great and was entertained by the small trickle of water coming from the sink.
Isaac helping Craig make PB&J sandwiches.
Isaac is always ecstatic for any opportunity to ride on a tractor. Thanks to his uncle Kyle having a tractor at his house, he got that opportunity the other day!

The Artist and His 1st Masterpiece!

Isaac created his 1st masterpiece with fingerpaints the other day. He liked the paint and enjoyed swirling it around on the paper until he realized it was all over his hands. After that he wasn't so sure what to think about it.

Our little Helper!

Isaac has always loved to be right near Craig and I whenever we are doing things. So now he loves when we ask him to help us. As you can see he even loves doing chores. I wonder how long that will last???

Deception falls

On the way home from Chelan we stopped at a place called Deception Falls for a beautful scenic walk. Isaac loved getting out of his car seat to go for a walk and Craig and I love to find new beautiful places.

Chelan

We went to Chelan again over labor day weekend. We had a great time with our friend Jake and his parents. The guys spent some time shooting rifles but the highlight I think was shooting the potato gun which Jake is holding on the left. With the help of apples for ammo and Aqua Net hairspray for fuel several hours of the weekend were spent shooting this potato gun at various targets. The rest of the weekend we spent laughing, eating and relaxing while enjoying the fellowship of each other.

I think I am FULL!

We went blackberry picking and Isaac ate more than you would think possible for a child his size. There are even a few remnants on his chin. But I think his face says it all "I am FULL!"

His own John Deere!

Great Grandma got this John Deere tractor for his birthday and it is one of his favorites. If he is not riding it we often find him carrying it.

Evergreen State Fair

We went to the fair and had a great time. Isaac loved seeing all of the animals, kids, and milllions of other things that stimulate young children at the fair. He is quite the climber as you can see in the picture where he is climbing the cattle fence. Craig was right there but he wanted to do it by himself.
And anything that he can ride that has a steering wheel is quite fantastic in his eyes. He does have a genuine intrest in tractors though, just like his dad!

Seattle Center Trip

We took a trip to the Seattle center for Seafair ( a big summer festival here in Seattle). Before we took our seats on the parade route Craig and Isaac went to play in the big fountain at the Seattle Center. They didn't intend to get wet but they did a little. It was a hot day though so they dried off quick.
Isaac is getting big and LOVES to walk anytime he can.

Family camping trip!

So we took Isaac on his first camping trip. He loved it which is no surprise since he can't spend enough time outside normally. We packed our car and traveled about 1.5 hrs from our house to a small and quaint campground called Clear Creek. It was nice and quite with only a few other campsites. And there were rocks everywhere to Isaac's delight. We took a couple hikes while we were there. This first picture is all of us on a log suspended over Clear Creek.
This picture is quite a bit further up Clear Creek. It was no surprise to us that we had the place to ourselves because we had to do some serious bush wacking and creative maneuvers to get here. But it was well worth the work. It was beautiful and the picture doesn't even do it justice.
This picture is on the Sauk river right next to our campsite. It created a beautiful rushing river sound that we were able to drift off to sleep to. We had a great time camping and are hoping to do it again before the summer is over.

Summertime fun!

Just a little summertime fun. Isaac loves to sit on the porch and he has a new discovered fondness of eating apples.
What child's summer is complete without a ride in a tire swing. You ask, Is he going to fall out? It actually worked perfect because his hips (diaper) fit right inside the tire and wedged him in. Craig had fun swinging him nice and high!

Grandpa Kevin's Birthday!

Isaac's Grandpa Kevin had his birthday on July third so we went to visit them on their boat in Poulsbo, WA. They have a big fireworks show there on the third so we played in the sun during the day and watched the fireworks that night. Well Isaac actually stayed up until 10:30 when the fireworks started and them promptly fell asleep with all of the big blasts going off all around him. But as you can see in the picture he had a long hard day playing in the sun and driving Grandpa's dingy.

Double Birthday Bash!!!

Sorry it has been so long since we updated our blog but here are a few of Isaac eating his 1st Birthday cake. He decided not to use his hands and instead pecked at the cake like a chicken. It was quite hysterical to watch. Craig then proceded to army paint Isaac with the frosting from the cake as you can see. We had a great party celebrating Isaac's 1st and Craig's 30th Birthday. The weather was nice which was an answer to prayer because I wasn't sure how we were going to fit everyone in our little house and we had a pinata filled with candy that needed to be blasted, and those just tend to work better outside!

I know how to point!

Isaac has discovered that pointing helps let us know what he wants or is talking about. So now he points at everything and jabbers away truly trying to tell me something (although I usually have no idea what he is saying). His words are limited to Mama, Uh Oh, and occasionally Dada. The fact that we can't understand him has definitely not slowed the jabbing at all. We are quite entertained because he is very animated as you can see in this picture. Hands fly, eyebrows go up and down, and he contorts his mouth in amazing ways creating the funniest sounds. Does it sound like we have fun with him? Well we do. He keeps us laughing all the time!

Playgroup

Here are our playgroup friends. Isaac is the one second from the right, and yes he is being a bully and pushing poor Jasmine. He is quite opinionated these days and is not shy about telling (or using phsical force) to express what he thinks. So we are working on what is okay and what is not. My baby is turning into a toddler?!?!?

Great Northern Mountain

This is just a great picture of Great Northern Mountain from the Pratt's backyard in Montana. What a gorgeous site.

Surprise Montana Visit

Well we pulled off a wonderful surprise for Craig's mom. She didn't know we were coming and was shocked when Craig, Isaac, and I walked up with Craig's brother, his wife and son. The whole family was together. We had a wonderful weekend and were able to celebrate a late birthday for Craig's mom and an early Mother's day. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit around a bonfire several nights and enjoy time talking as a family.

Little Troublemaker in the Making

All I can say is TROUBLE! Isaac gets ino everything and here is an example of that. He is going for the yogurt which is his absolute favorite food right now. Craig and I laugh about this but more and more we know that we are going to have to watch him like a hawk.
